Sharon 'moving limbs'

Jerusalem - Prime Minister Ariel Sharon on Tuesday began moving limbs on the left-hand side of his body in response to pain stimulus, Israeli radio said.

Medics treating the prime minister have said that only the right-hand side of Sharon's brain, which operates the left side of his body, was affected in the massive brain haemorrhage he suffered last week.

The reports on public and army radio came a day after Sharon slightly moved his right arm and leg as medics attempted to rouse him from a medically-induced coma.

A spokesperson at Jerusalem's Hadassah hospital declined to comment on the reports ahead of a press conference which was expected to be held in the late afternoon.
