Corby faces longer prison stay

Jakarta - Indonesia's Supreme Court has reinstated an original 20-year jail sentence imposed on Australian Schapelle Corby for drug smuggling after it was earlier reduced to 15 years, said a court official on Thursday.
An official said: "The appeal verdict of the Supreme Court was dated January 12 and it reinstated the 20-year sentence."
He said the verdict was decided by a panel of three judges, but could not give further details.
One of Corby's lawyers, Erwin Siregar, said he had heard about the latest ruling, but not yet received a copy of it.
He said: "I have only heard that an appeal verdict was issued by the Supreme Court, which reinstated the 20-year jail sentence... I have not yet received a copy of the verdict and therefore cannot comment more than that."
Sentence reduced to 15 years
Corby, 28, was found guilty by a court in the resort island of Bali in May after 4.1kg of marijuana was found stashed inside her unlocked surfboard bag as she arrived on holiday in October 2004.
Bali's high court reduced the sentence to 15 years last October and both prosecutors and Corby's lawyers filed appeals to the Supreme Court.
Her lawyers had said they wanted the Supreme Court either to release her or trim her sentence to less than 10 years.
The original sentence outraged many Australians, partly due to its severity and partly because many believed her lawyers' claims that international drug smugglers put the marijuana in her bag without her knowledge.
