Dushanbe - A wolf attacked 15 people in Tajikistan.
Forty-eight observers were also hospitalised after the attacks as it was suspected that they could have contracted rabies.
The attacks occurred on Sunday in the town of Pedzhikent, 260km north of the capital, Dushanbe, said deputy health minister Ziyevuddin Avgonov.
Twenty-eight of those hospitalised had direct contact with the wolf after it was killed, or with people who were attacked.
Humans are usually exposed to rabies - a potentially fatal viral infection that attacks the nervous system - when they are bitten by infected animals.
