  • London - Two weeks after the record-breaking security depot robbery in Britain thieves have again targeted the firm Securitas, stealing <£>8m pounds after stopping an armoured van.

    Police said the incident happened in Cheshire, in north-west Britain, late on Wednesday afternoon.

    According to the BBC, the robbers stopped the van by blocking its route with a truck, and then smashing a tractor into the security vehicle.

    The sum of money taken has not been confirmed by police.

    In an armed raid on a security depot in Tonbridge, in the south- eastern county of Kent two weeks ago, robbers stole a record <£>53m.

    The depot manager and his family, as well as staff, were taken hostage in the raid.

    Police have recovered up to <£>20m from the haul. Five people have been charged and altogether 17 have been questioned over the February 22 raid.
