Tehran - An Iranian court sentenced two Swedish men to three years imprisonment on Tuesday, after they were found guilty of photographing military installations and telephone pylons.
Counsellor at the Swedish embassy in Tehran, Lena Kjellstrom, said: "According to the lawyer, they have been sentenced to three years in prison each."
She did not give the men's names.
A judicial official in Iran confirmed the sentence but did not give further details.
The case was heard in the southern port city of Bandar Abbas.
A notice posted on Iran's judiciary website read: "The charges related to taking photographs of military installations and telephone pylons in Tehran and the Gulf island of Qeshm."
The website said both men had admitted taking photographs of military installations.
