    Mumbai - At least 18 people were killed when an overcrowded bus plunged into a river near India's commercial hub of Mumbai on Tuesday.

    The bus, carrying about 60 people, veered off a bridge when the driver lost control.

    Senior Indian police official, Archana Tyagi, said: "Eighteen bodies have been recovered. Some people have been rescued."

    He said rescue workers were looking for other passengers.
