60 Taliban fighters killed

Kabul - About 60 Taliban fighters and four Afghan government soldiers were killed in a battle in the southern province of Uruzgan, said reports on Wednesday.
It was reported that the commander of Afghan forces in the south, general Rahmatullah Raufi, said the battle took place on Tuesday evening and the bodies of about 60 militants had been found.
The general was not immediately available for comment.
An interior ministry spokesperson in Kabul said he had heard that 10 Taliban were killed in the battle on the outskirts of the Uruzgan provincial capital, Tirin Kot.
