Jerusalem - Israel's internal security chief told the cabinet on Sunday that it might take months to resolve a crisis involving the abduction of a soldier by Palestinian militants from Gaza, Israeli media reported.

"We have to take a deep breath.

"This could take weeks or months.

The Maariv news website quoted Yuval Diskin, head of the Shin Bet security service, as saying: "There is no magic solution."
