Israel OKs Lebanon action
12/07/2006 22:24 - (SA)
Tel Aviv - The Israeli government gave the green light to military action in Lebanon at an emergency cabinet meeting on Wednesday after the capture of two soldiers by Hezbollah militiamen.
"This kidnapping marks an escalation for the entire region. "Israel will react in an appropriate fashion because it is obvious to the whole world that responsibility for this affair rests with the Lebanese government," Israeli cabinet minister Yitzhak Herzog told reporters.
However, he refused to give any details about potential targets or the scope of any further action by Israel, which has already launched strikes from the air, ground and sea against Lebanon.
