Schoolkids find dead body

Oakland - Students at an elementary school in California got a nasty shock when they found the body of a dead woman while tending a vegetable patch in the school garden, according to the San Francisco Chronicle on Wednesday.
The woman, who has not been identified yet, was lying among the plants and police are treating the case as homicide.
The discovery came on Tuesday afternoon when about a dozen children aged seven to 10 entered the garden at the Lafayette Elementary School in West Oakland, which is known as a crime hot spot.
The children discovered the body soon after opening the gate.
Grief counsellors were set to visit the school on Wednesday to help the kids deal with the shock.
"It's so sad that a child found that body," said resident Donetta Dozier. "That poor child is probably traumatised." - Sapa-dpa
