New Delhi - Police claimed on Tuesday to have arrested a prime suspect in the Mumbai train bombings in July that left more than 200 people dead, a news report said.
The anti-terrorist squad said it detained Junaid, accused of planting some of the seven bombs, in the western Indian town of Belgaum, the Press Trust of India news agency reported.
Junaid, who uses only one name, belongs to the banned Students' Islamic Movement of India, PTI said.
Sixteen people - 11 of them Pakistanis - have so far been arrested in an investigation into the attack that killed at least 207 people and injured 700 more.
Seven bombs ripped through suburban commuter trains in the attack.
