Cows kill two on autobahn

Berlin - Two people were killed and a third injured on Tuesday when their car hit a herd of runaway cows that had wandered onto a German autobahn, police said.
The car ran headlong into the herd on the highway between Berlin and Hamburg early in the morning, flipping over and killing a 41-year-old and 56-year-old occupant. A 48-year-old was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, police said.
A truck also ran into the herd, but the driver was unharmed.
Seven of the approximately 50 cows which had apparently broken through the fence around their nearby field, were killed in the accident.
