London - Police hunting the killer of
prostitutes in Ipswich said on Thursday one of two women found
dead earlier this week died from "compression to the neck".
The bodies of two women, believed to be missing prostitutes
Paula Clennell, 24, and Annette Nicholls, 29, were discovered
near Ipswich on Tuesday.
A post mortem on one of the bodies revealed that pressure
had been applied to her neck. Police did not elaborate or
confirm the identity of the victim.
"Her death is being treated as murder," Detective Chief
Superintendent Stewart Gull told a news conference.
Police earlier said they were checking reports a man was
seen driving off with one of the victims a few days before her
body was found.
Detectives said they were aware that a witness believed she
was among the last to see Anneli Alderton getting into a blue
BMW late last week. Her naked body was found on Sunday.
Police have linked the murders of Anneli Alderton, 24, Gemma
Adams, 25, and Tania Nicol, 19.
