New Delhi - A tribal man in India's eastern state Orissa beheaded a woman after a quarrel, walked 3km to a local police station, and surrendered with the severed head, said a news report on Tuesday.
Ghasiram Majhi, 45, gave himself up at the police station at Sambalpur, about 300km northwest of state capital Bhubhaneshwar, after killing his neighbour Tapaswini Sekhardeo, 32, on Monday.
"Ghasiram beheaded the woman with an axe after she allegedly quarrelled with his wife over some family matter," said a police official.
After killing the woman, Ghasiram walked more than 3km to the police station with the severed head.
As he walked, the sight of the severed head created panic in the town, added local police officials.
