  • Hong Kong - An elderly Hong Kong man killed his wife of 48 years in a row over whose turn it was to use the toilet, a news report said on Saturday.

Cho Pui-kee, 77, snapped during an argument over the toilet with his wife, 73-year-old Chan Nui-oi, and strangled her, the South China Morning Post reported.

Chan's body was found rolled up in a quilt when two of their six adult children became concerned and called on the elderly couple at their flat after the killing in June last year.

Cho denied the murder at the start of his trial on Friday although he had previously said he would plead guilty to manslaughter, the newspaper said.

Details of the row were not revealed but a daughter of the couple told the court her mother "nagged a lot" and "could be quite stubborn". The trial continues on Monday.
