Blacksburg - A bomb threat was reported at the campus of Virginia Polytechnical Institute on Wednesday, two days after the gun massacre which claimed 33 lives, the US television network Fox News reported.

The TV network said armed security forces had surrounded an administration building where the university president's office was located.

Employees were ordered to evacuate their offices.

The administration building is located directly next to the lecture hall where some of the killings took place on Monday when 23-year-old South Korean student Cho Seung-Hui went on a rampage, killing 32 people and them himself in the worst such killing spree in US history. - Sapa-dpa
