Sydney - A Hells Angel biker wanted over a deadly shooting spree in central Melbourne which left one bystander dead surrendered on Wednesday to authorities, police said.
Christopher Wayne Hudson, 29, surrendered to officers at a police station north of Melbourne, ending a national manhunt sparked by the rush-hour shooting early on Monday.
"Late this afternoon he handed himself in to the Wallan police station," a police spokesperson said.
Hudson is accused of shooting two men, one fatally, who came to the aid of a woman he was allegedly dragging by the hair as she tried to escape him. He allegedly then turned the weapon on the woman before fleeing.
Forty-three-year old lawyer Brendan Keilar died at the scene while the second man, Dutch tourist Paul de Waard, was in a serious condition in hospital on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old woman wounded in the triple shooting underwent emergency surgery at the Royal Melbourne Hospital where she was in a stable condition.
