Second car bomb found in London

London - British police found a second car bomb on Friday near Park Lane in central London after defusing a similar device outside a city-centre nightclub, a senior officer said, saying the two were "clearly linked".
The Metropolitan Police anti-terrorism chief Peter Clarke said the second vehicle, a blue Mercedes, contained fuel and gas canisters as well as nails, the same material found in the first one.
"These vehicles are clearly linked," he told reporters in a brief statement, adding that both had been set to explode in London's entertainment district and that the development was obviously troubling.
The first Mercedes was found in Haymarket outside the Tiger Tiger nightclub, while the second had been illegally parked in nearby Cockspur Street, given a ticket and towed at 03:30 to a pound in Park Lane near Hyde Park, he said.
In the second vehicle, he said "there was a considerable amount of fuel and gas canisters. As in the first vehicle, there was also a substantial quantity of nails".
"This like the first device was potentially viable and was made safe by the explosives office."
