Timeline: London bomb plot

London - Detectives are hunting for more
members of a militant cell who rammed a burning jeep into a
Scottish airport and tried to detonate two car bombs in central
London.
Here is a chronology of the main events:
Friday, June 29
01:30: Paramedics alert police to a suspicious green
Mercedes parked outside the Tiger Tiger nightclub in Haymarket
central London.
Explosives officers find it is packed with gas cylinders and
petrol, making it a potentially viable car bomb..
02:30: A second Mercedes is given a parking ticket in
nearby Cockspur Street. It is taken to a pound in Hyde Park.
13:15: Police examine second Mercedes and find it also
contains gas canisters and petrol.
Saturday, June 30
15:15: A Cherokee jeep rams the front doors of Glasgow
Airport's main terminal before exploding in flames.
Two men are arrested at the scene.
20:00: Britain's security level raised to "critical"
indicating an attack is expected imminently.
21:15: Police arrest a man, 26 and a 27-year-old woman
on the M6 in Cheshire.
23:40: Merseyside Police arrest a 26-year-old man in
Liverpool.
