15/07/2007 20:02 - (SA)
Madrid - Spanish police have seized 48 million images and videos and arrested 66 people in a child pornography investigation.
Acting alongside Interpol, police tracked 5 000 downloads of pornographic material from archives located on servers in Germany.
The investigation, which started in September, found 85
computer users downloading the images leading to 66 arrests in
different regions of Spain.
Those arrested include architects, psychologists, doctors, lawyers and child sport coaches.
A police spokesperson said: "One of the arrested had the largest amount of child pornography - 21 hard discs - found until now by the police."
Police are investigating whether any of those detained are
guilty of abusing children as well as downloading images of
child pornography.
