Strong aftershock jolts Japan

Tokyo - A strong aftershock measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale hit central Japan on Monday following a killer quake, the meteorological agency said.
The quake struck at 15:37 (06:37 GMT) with the epicentre located 10km under the ground near the coast at Kashiwazaki, the agency said, adding that there was no fear of tsunami waves.
Earlier in the day, a powerful quake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale hit the region, killing at least four people and injuring 300 others.
Kashiwazaki was one of the cities hardest hit by the initial quake.
