3rd German held in Afghanistan German hostage 'very sick'

Kabul - A kidnapped German journalist and his Afghan translator were freed on Wednesday in Afghanistan, a provincial governor said.

No ransom was paid for the pair who were abducted from a house late on Tuesday night in Saangar district of the eastern province of Kunar, said Kunar's governor Shalizi Deedar.

"We are very thankful to the residents of Saangar, they promised the Kunar authorities they will never let any enemies there and they kept their promise," Deedar said.
