Five die in shooting spree

Chicago - A law enforcement officer suspected in the shooting deaths of six people early Sunday in the town of Crandon, Wisconsin, has been shot dead by police, CNN television reported.

No details about the suspect's shooting were made available.

News reports said the shooting occurred about 03:00 (07:00 GMT) in Crandon, not far from the Canadian border.
