Myanmar lifts Yangon curfew
20/10/2007 17:39 - (SA)
Yangon - Military-run Myanmar on Saturday lifted a curfew in Yangon that was imposed on the eve of the junta's bloody crackdown on dissent, a local official told AFP.
"The curfew is over, effective today," said the official, who declined to be named.
The military junta imposed the curfew in Yangon on the eve of its bloody crackdown on peaceful pro-democracy protests last month, during which at least 13 people were killed and about 3 000 detained.
