31/10/2007 22:41 - (SA)
Ottawa - Less than two weeks after a Canadian was arrested in Thailand for paedophilia, Thai police are on a manhunt for one of his compatriots suspected of similar crimes.
Public broadcaster CBC says Orville Frank Mader, 54, of Kitchener, Ontario, is accused of sexually abusing an eight-year-old boy. An arrest warrant for Mader has been issued.
Thai authorities allege the boy was kidnapped by a local man and sold for sex in southern Thailand. His abductor is now in custody and will be arraigned before a judge in the resort city of Pattaya.
Canadian Christopher Neil, 32, was arrested in Thailand a few weeks ago on charges of having sex with boys. Interpol had launched a worldwide search for the man who appeared in sexually explicit photos circulating on the internet.
