Yangon - The doctor treating Myanmar's detained opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi visited her twice at her lakeside home in Yangon last week, a spokesperson from her party said on Wednesday.
Nyan Win, of the National League for Democracy (NLD), said he had few details about Aung San Suu Kyi's health, but said that he understood her condition was not serious.
"As far as I know, her health condition is good, but we don't know anything in detail," he said, confirming a doctor visited her on Friday and Saturday.
Aung San Suu Kyi, who is 62, has been under house arrest at her sprawling lakeside home for 12 of the last 18 years.
She has little contact with the outside world, except for a live-in maid and once-a-month visits from her doctor.
United Nations special envoy Ibrahim Gambari is due to visit the Nobel peace prize winner as part of his mission to try to persuade the military junta to hold talks with the opposition and move towards democracy.
Myanmar has been ruled by the military since 1962.
Aung San Suu Kyi led the NLD to an overwhelming election victory in 1990, but the junta never allowed it to take office and has locked up Aung San Suu Kyi for extended periods of time.
Her latest period in detention began after a May 2003 attack on her convoy by a junta-backed militia in the country's central region.
She was thrown into prison after the assault but was allowed to return home after a gynaecological operation.
In November last year, Aung San Suu Kyi had an ultrasound, which is used to screen for a variety of ailments including heart and gynaecological problems, and was given a clean bill of health by her personal physician.
