New IAEA team in Iran
09/12/2007 17:23 - (SA)
Tehran - A team from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) arrived in Tehran on Sunday for renewed inspections, state news agency IRNA reported.
The IAEA team was to start work on Tuesday, focusing on the source of contamination in the technical university in Tehran which for many years was a source of grave concern for the UN nuclear watchdog.
Iran says that the IAEA inspections prove Iran's readiness to remove all ambiguities over its nuclear programme and keep it transparent.
Tehran further terms the IAEA as the only internationally acknowledged body to make assessments on Iran's nuclear programmes and therefore demands the return of the nuclear dossier from the UN Security Council in New York to the IAEA in Vienna. - Sapa-dpa
