'I'd rather have sex than food'
27/12/2007 13:12 - (SA)
Rome - Many working Italians are more interested in cheating on their partner at lunchtime than in grabbing a bite to eat, according to a survey by the psychology magazine, Riza Psicosomatia.
The midday break between 12:30 and 14:00 accounted for one in three acts of adultery, showed a poll taken among 1 000 Italians aged 20- 60. The rest said they went out for a pizza or a salad.
"People get by as best as they can," the magazine told its readers. "Regardless of the location, whether in the car or in the office, it has to be over and done with quickly while everyone else is out to lunch or even in the restaurant rest-room".
One in two of those quizzed claimed to have steadfastly resisted the temptation of sexual infidelity during the course of 2007. Those who did cheat on their partners said they tended to do so with work colleagues or with chance acquaintances.
