Bogota - The Colombian rebel group Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) announced on Sunday that the group was to release three hostages for health reasons.
The three were named as the former parliamentarians Gloria Polanco, Luiz Eladio Perez and Orlando Beltran, all kidnapped in 2001.
FARC rebels asked Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez to mediate in the releases. In early January Chavez had engineered the release of two other hostages.
