Diana's butler lied to inquest

London - Princess Diana's former butler Paul Burrell admitted to lying to the ongoing inquest into the late royal's death, Monday's edition of The Sun tabloid reported.
Citing a three-hour video shot in a New York hotel room that it obtained, the newspaper quoted Burrell as saying: "I was very naughty and I made a couple of red herrings, and I couldn't help doing it. ... I know you shouldn't play with justice and I know it's illegal and I realise how serious it is."
Speaking to a friend in the room, Burrell also reportedly said: "Do you honestly think I've told everything I know? Of course I haven't ... I didn't tell the whole truth."
The tabloid published photographs which appeared to be frames from the video - slightly pixelated images in black and white shot from ground level, with a man resembling Burrell sitting on a sofa with a drink.
Last month, Burrell told the inquest into Diana's death in an August 1997 Paris car crash that Queen Elizabeth II had been "concerned" about the princess's relationship with Dodi Fayed, her lover who was also killed in the crash.
He also said that Diana's mother Frances Shand Kydd called Diana a "whore" for dating Muslim men, and told the inquest that he believed it was "impossible" that she was murdered on the orders of the royal family.
