Greenpeace protests on plane
25/02/2008 14:20 - (SA)
London - Environmental activists said on Monday they had climbed atop a plane at London's Heathrow Airport to protest climate change.
The group Greenpeace said several of its members climbed the British Airways Boeing 777 after it landed on a domestic flight from Manchester.
They planned to unfurl banners protesting aviation's role in global warming.
Greenpeace opposes plans for a third runway at Heathrow, Europe's busiest airport.
Heathrow officials could not immediately confirm the claim.
