Baghdad bomb blasts kill 42

Baghdad - The death toll from two
roadside bombs that exploded in quick succession in a shopping
area in central Baghdad on Thursday has risen to 42, an Iraqi
security spokesperson said.
Major-General Qassim Moussawi, spokesperson for security
operations in Baghdad, said another 120 people had been wounded
in the attacks.
A witness at the scene said he had seen people holding body
parts. He also saw a woman crying in the street as rescuers
searched for her sons.
The attacks came on the day that the US military said it
was withdrawing 2 000 troops from the Iraqi capital.
