Samarra - Iraqi security forces on Tuesday found a grave containing 20 bodies of men, women and children near the central town of Samarra, police said.
The mass grave was found in a dry riverbed in an area called Al-Jillam, northeast of Samarra, and the bodies appeared to be those of people killed a long time ago, Lieutenant Muthanna al-Shakir said.
This is the second such grave found in Iraq within a week.
About 100 decomposed bodies were found buried in one in the province of Diyala on Saturday.
Human rights groups believe there are hundreds of mass graves of people killed during the former regime in Iraq.
Shakir said troops had also arrested four suspected al-Qaeda militants near the area of the latest grave and found 700 Iranian-made mortar rounds.
