Pontiac - A retired pathologist who claims to have helped at least 130 people die is planning to run for Congress.
Assisted suicide advocate Jack Kevorkian is on parole since being released from prison last year after being convicted of second-degree murder in one man's death.
Kevorkian told The Oakland Press newspaper on Wednesday that he planned to run in Michigan without party affiliation for the congressional seat now held by Republican Joe Knollenberg.
Kevorkian needs a minimum of 3 000 signatures on nominating petitions to appear as an independent on the November ballot.
Kevorkian is known as "Dr Death" for his alleged role in the assisted suicides.
