Stalkers get own advice bureau
16/04/2008 19:33 - (SA)
Berlin - Psychologists are setting up Germany's first advice bureau for stalkers, and are counting on police to refer "clients" who cannot stop themselves from molesting other adults.
Wolf Ortiz-Mueller, head of the bureau, said the service was unique in Germany and believed it would indirectly help victims.
The Stop Stalking office, to open in Berlin on April 23, will employ five psychologists and social workers, who will offer up to 16 counselling sessions to help stalkers realise how damaging their obsession is.
Constantly accosting or phoning a person against their will was made a crime in Germany a year ago. - Sapa-dpa
