DNA shows Austrian dad's incest

Vienna - DNA test results confirmed on Tuesday that the Austrian man who locked up his daughter for 24 years in a basement was indeed the father of her surviving six children, investigators said.
"The DNA tests provided decisive evidence that the six children that Elisabeth (Fritzl) gave birth to, have the same father," chief investigator Franz Polzer told a press conference.
"We're talking about Josef Fritzl, 73," he added, naming Elisabeth's father.
Fritzl admitted on Monday to imprisoning his now 42-year-old daughter in a windowless cellar for nearly 24 years and fathering her seven children.
One baby died shortly after birth.
He now faces 15 years in jail if convicted of rape and sequestration.
He was remanded in custody in St Poelten on Tuesday and is still being questioned by police.
There is no indication so far that the wife of the Austrian man who locked up his daughter for 24 years in a basement was an accomplice to the crime, Polzer said.
"There's no way that that has been shown or confirmed," the investigator said.
