Vienna - More than 3 000 Austrians signed up to strip naked at Vienna's Ernst-Happel football stadium for a photo shoot by US-artist Spencer Tunick, organisers said on Wednesday.
The volunteers were to participate in Tunick's Artwork with 1 000 balls project on Sunday, where they would pose with 1 000 footballs at the site of the finals of the upcoming Euro 2008 football tournament.
According to the organisers, currently 56% of the participants were male, but interested candidates could still sign up online.
Tunick's shots could be bought for €100 and participants would get a signed photo for free.

The artist himself would keep his clothes on, because his nudity would draw too much attention, Tunick was quoted as saying by the Austrian press agency.
Weather forecasts for Sunday were good, but the photoshoot would go ahead in any weather, Tunick said.
The photo-artist was known for his mass-nude shots in different locations worldwide. He referred to his work as living sculptures or body landscapes. - Sapa-dpa
