Nablus - Two makeshift rockets
landed harmlessly outside Palestinian villages in the occupied
West Bank on Monday, residents said, accusing neighbouring
Jewish settlers of launching an attack.
An Israeli army spokesperson declined to comment, saying it was
a police matter. An Israeli police spokesperson said he had no
information about the incident.
Residents of the villages of Odala and Awarta, south of the
West Bank city of Nablus, said two rockets were fired from the
nearby Jewish settlement of Yitzhar. A Reuters Television
cameraman saw a projectile, about 45 centimetres long, burning in a field.
A week ago, Israeli police arrested a Yitzhar settler on
suspicion of firing a rocket at a village in the area last
month.
