Life term for water-poisoner

Beijing - A man who admitted dumping pesticide into a reservoir in central China in order to boost sales of the water purifiers he sold has been sentenced to life in prison, state press reported Tuesday.
At least 133 people were poisoned in the October 1 incident which affected the water supply to more than nine thousand homes in Ruyang county, Henan province.
The Xinhua news agency said Cao Qian, 27, was sentenced at the Luoyang Intermediate People's Court
The court heard that his prime motive was to boost sales of the water-purification devices he marketed.
No-one died in the incident.
