Los Angeles - Actress Sandra Bullock has donated $1m to tsunami relief efforts, the American Red Cross announced on Monday.
The donation by the star of Miss Congeniality coincided with a $2m donation from Michael Dell, founder of Dell Computers, and came as president George Bush and former president Bill Clinton spearheaded a push for private donation from US individuals and companies.
American Red Cross President Marsha Evans said: "At this critical time, I am grateful to Sandra Bullock for once again demonstrating her leadership, compassion and belief in our global humanitarian mission.
"Sandra continues to enable our lifesaving work and is a model for personal generosity."
