Kerry's campaign heating up
19/09/2004 18:40 - (SA)
Boston - US presidential candidate John Kerry told supporters here he is in a "fighting mood" as he struggles to pull even with President George W Bush after falling behind in opinion polls ahead of November's election.
"When I get in a fighting mood towards the end of September and towards the beginning of October, I think you know what happens here," Kerry told an enthusiastic crowd in his home state, adding that he already feels "the October juices flowing."
Kerry was referring to his reputation as a late closer who has managed to pull out come-from-behind victories in past hard-fought elections.
He was set to unveil a set of hard-hitting set of campaign ads on Monday slamming Bush's record on the Iraq war and the continued violence there.
