Hillary's top priority...
10/04/2008 07:27 - (SA)
Washington - Former President Bill Clinton says being a mother always was a top priority for his wife Hillary Rodham Clinton, although that changed slightly when daughter Chelsea entered Stanford.
"Even in the White House, being a mom always came first, until Chelsea went off to college," Bill Clinton says. "Then she had to worry about me!"
The former president and Michelle Obama wrote personal appeals to the readers of "Us Weekly" magazine on behalf of their spouses who are Democratic presidential candidates. The issue hits newsstands on Friday.
Bill Clinton tells readers he was so lonely after their daughter left that his wife got him a dog, Buddy. "She always seems to know the answer to every problem!" he says.
Michelle Obama wrote about how she was hesitant about her husband Barack Obama getting into the presidential race.
"But when I took off my selfish hat, and I put on my mom hat and my professional hat and my woman hat and my citizen hat, I realised that if I weren't married to him, I'd want a Barack Obama presidency right now - not in four or eight years, but now," she says.
