Cape Town - Former Bafana Bafana defender and captain of the 1996 AFCON winning national team, Neil Tovey, has been hospitalised after suffering three heart attacks on Tuesday morning. report that Tovey, 52, is currently in intensive care unit in a Durban hospital.

There are no further details on Tovey's condition but it is believed that Tovey had to be repeatedly resuscitated on Tuesday morning. 

Tovey won 29 caps for the national side and was as a star for Kaizer Chiefs.

This news comes after reports earlier this week that John "Shoes" Moshoeu is fighting for his life in Johannesburg hospital.
