LAST year he visited our shores and managed, with his powerful voice and vintage charm, to weaken the knees of just about every fan he came into contact with.
Now the handsome Italian crooner Patrizio Buanne is set to return to South Africa for a nationwide solo tour.
Patrizio chatted to People's Post recently from his hotel room in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Even on a delayed and broken line the distinct magic in that Italian accent is unmistakable.
With both his albums, The Italian and Forever Begins Tonight, reaching record success in South Africa, it is only natural that he begins the interview by expressing how happy he is to be coming back.
"This country is very close to my heart. The fans here have greatly supported my career from the beginning and they welcome me with open arms each time I visit."
A performer from the early age of 11, Patrizio says much of his success can be attributed to the close support of his family.
His father, the owner of the first Italian restaurant in Vienna, had big dreams for his son and after his death Patrizio, who was only 17 at the time, was more determined than ever to make his father?s name famous.
"My father inspired me to be the man I am today."
After 15 years of singing Patrizio still holds on to the songs he was brought up with, and even though he brings in his own songs and his own unique element, the old school romantic style stays with him.
"Romance to me is not just something that happens between a man and a woman. Romance is the opposite of ignorance.
It's about being aware of the people around you and treating them with love and respect.
"Most men these days think that in order to be a good man and to be cool you must be rough and tough, but this is not true."
And with millions of women world-wide swooning at the very mention of the name Patrizio, he must be right.
"People have been very kind to me in my life. When they come to my show I want to not only give them a good show, but to make them feel as though we are all friends."
Patrizio will perform for one night only in Cape Town at the His People Centre in Goodwood on Friday, 28 September at 20:00, supported by UK singer Natasha Marsh.
