    Double dose of Louw Venter

THE Kalk Bay Theatre is serving up a feast of theatrical enjoyment during October and November as they host Louw Venter's Out of Time and The Best Man's Speech.

Both shows are written and performed by the talented Venter, who is the co-creator of the hit comedy The Most Amazing Show, but these two one-man plays see him explore other sides to his talent and give audiences a look at Venter like never before.

Out of Time is a very personal piece for Venter, who began exploring issues surrounding his own mortality after the birth of his children. Being a parent gave rise to fears and wonder about what would happen to his children if they were left behind, ultimately resulting in the stream of thought-provoking reflections within the play.

Best Man's Speech is a comedy piece centred around a best man's embarrassing revelations. Audiences soon realise they are guests at the wedding as Venter takes the idea of "the best man's speech gone wrong" and amplifies its cringe-factor with exponential abandon.

Both shows run concurrently at the same venue on different nights. Out of Time starts on 10 October and Best Man's Speech on 12 October.

The Kalk Bay Theatre offers an intimate dinner theatre setting where audiences can choose from theatre only tickets at R90 to R100, theatre and dinner for between R220 and R200 per person, and a theatre and pasta dinner ticket at R130 per person. Bookings can be made on 073 220 5430. Visit www.kbt.co.za for information on show dates and times.
