THE Fish Hoek AFC, currently in its 75th year, will play host to the CTTFA Junior Knock-Out Cup Final tournament on Saturday, 24 September at the Fish Hoek sports fields.
Teams in the u/9, u/11, u/13, u/15 and u/17 age groups will participate, with ten teams per age group adding up to 750 junior players giving their best on the field!
Klaus Ferger, junior chairperson of the Fish Hoek AFC, says that it is a huge honour for the club to host the tournament, particularly since it celebrates its 75th anniversary this year.
"Our club's players come from all over the South Peninsula, with the bulk of players coming from Ocean View, Masiphumelele, Kalk Bay and Muizenberg.
"With a tournament of this nature, we could boost our finances and uplift the standard of soccer and facilities; subsidise players who cannot afford their annual fee, and also subsidise transport for players from poor communities," Klaus says.
He says that the club's helpers and officials are volunteers and he hopes they can be rewarded for their efforts with a donation. Donations can be in the form of small gifts, cash or items that could be used for a raffle. Companies can also donate branded T-shirts.
Members of the public are heartily invited to enjoy the CTTFA tournament with the club on 24 September. There'll be food stalls, beer gardens and, of course, great football!
Entry is R5 per car and R5 per adult. Children under 18 get in free of charge. Kick-off is at 09:00. Be there!
