The Thomas Mbiza Athletic Club will be launched for Simon's Town, with a day of sport on Saturday, 8 October. The club is intended to serve the youth of Da Gama Park, Simon's Town, Red Hill, Ocean View and Masiphumelele.

The launch will begin with a 5 km fun run/walk from the Simon's Town sports field. The cost is R10 for seniors and R5 for juniors and entries will be received from 07:30, with the race starting at 08:00.

There will also be a top-four soccer tournament at the Simon's Town sports field at 09:00 and a top-four netball tournament at the Lock Base Netball Court at 10:00.
