    Chris does it again!

THE inimitable Chris Jones, who last year set a Guinness World Record for playing badminton continuously for 50 hours, bettered this performance when he played for an unbelievable 52 hours this weekend.

Chris was aiming to set a new world record this year and decided on his age, 52, as the magic number. His world record attempt still needs to be verified by Guinness World Record administrators.

Chris's marathon badminton session saw him spend Friday to Sunday hitting a shuttlecock back and forth on a court outside Edgars in the Longbeach Mall.

He gained five-minute rest breaks for every hour spent on court, but opted to let these accumulate into larger chunks of rest time for when he really needed them.

The 42nd hour was the worst for him and he was ready to pass out. But Chris pulled through and was cheered on to the big 52nd hour by a large group of supporters and onlookers on Sunday afternoon.

When the clock struck midday, Chris finally put his racket down, 52 hours behind him.
