The Fish Hoek 1st X1 made a fighting comeback on the second day of their match against Edgemead.
Following on and trailing by 167 runs, they scored a creditable 238 to force Edgemead to bat again. Mark de Beer scored a superb 75 and Wayne Holman, showing his potential, got 57.
These two, together with skipper Grant Snowball (28), showed great tenacity and provided the determination that has been lacking in recent performances. Fish Hoek lost the match, but they certainly took heart from this performance.
The 2nd X1 were close to victory, with Dennis Bowditch bowling superbly. Rain had the final say, however. Bowditch with 5/12, Andy Williams (41) and Craig Allen (37) did well in this drawn game.
Craig Miller hit a huge 77 vs UWC for the 4th X1. Miller has scored 57, 60, 77, and 95 and 105 this season. Mark Wynne also continued his good form with 46 as his side went down narrowly (by six runs) against Bellville.
