Ocean View victorious but Fish Hoek let it slip
    Derek Harvey

Fish Hoek only managed to get 121 runs vs Police in their 1st division fixture, despite a fine 58 by Mark de Beer. This player was once again in the runs and proved to be invaluable to the team.

Fish Hoek then had Police at 76/7, but their last two batsmen put on 62 runs to see them to a credible 185 all out. Fish Hoek were 24/1 at close.

The 2nd X1 had a good day, skittling Edgemead for 87, with André Olwagen (4/34) and Andrew Williams (4/19) doing the damage. Williams then capped a fine all-round performance, getting 51 runs. Helped by Craig Allen (32) and a good innings of 48 from Rory O'Brien, Fish Hoek declared at 186/9.

Skipper Steve Brandt then took 2 wickets to have the opposition reeling at 30/5. Veteran Brian Norbury scored a fighting 51 for the 3rd X1, showing all his experience and determination. Scores: FHCC 116. Bellville 204.

Ocean View had a fine victory against Yorkshire CC. Denzil Wessels batted well for 56 and Daniel Daniels got a maiden half century, ending with a chanceless 85, with Theo Lamb chipping in with 34. In reply to Ocean View's 249/8, the opposition were rolled by a star performance from André Franke, taking 2/0 at the end of the 1st innings and then 5 wickets to win the match. He was not alone, with André Kallis (4/18) and Lamb (4/5) also excelling, giving them victory by an innings and 28 runs.
